BHT PICTURE GALLERY - Station Road Shops - 1939-2000
No 74 Vye and Son 1964
One of the 19th century houses were demolished to make way for this block, which was later extended to the right for more shops and a supermarket. Vye's, "The Kentish Grocer" became Liptons. It was later divided into two shops (both No 74); the left one became a greengrocer then Bunches, the right half became a Cancer Research charity shop. The three empty shops became Nos 68, 70 and 72, with a variety of occupants, including The Grott Shop at No 68.
For any changes to occupants in the 21st Century see Station Road 21st. Look for the same street number.
