No 1 Gardners in 1964
No 1 Gardners in 1964

This was built about 1929, when William J. Gardner bought and demolished Nos 5 and 6 Bath Cottages (a pair of Dutch-gabled cottages that mirrored ‘Laburnum House’ opposite).  Gardner was a seed and corn merchant and also sold vegetables and firewood.
It has since been estate agents Silvesters, then Prudential, then Wards .

For any changes to occupants in the 21st Century see Station Road 21st. Look for the same street number.
