Ballard's shop, with the unusual combination of confectionery and radio, became various other confectioners (but no radio) including C & A Hobson,  M E Constable,  Fredk Sherwood,  S H Palmer, J W Ord, and C W Fawcett.  It is now TAG (Thanet Animal Group) charity shop.

Fred Wells ironmonger became Mence Smith (a national chain), then in the 1960's House of Cards. In the late 1990's it became C G Waters, a carpet shop, and in 2008 Premier Dancewear.
